And I will wait upon the LORD, that hideth his face from the house of Jacob, and I will look for him. Isaiah 8:17

OT 2026 Genesis 10-15

Today's class on Abram was a bit disjointed, literally: the sound system for the entire building was offline.  So, the powerpoint is being merged with a phone audio recording.  Pray for our IT guy!

In talking about the '70 nations of the world' and the travels of Abram (not Abraham until Genesis 17), a good map and photos are helpful.  I recommend this old book from 1986. It was prepared by the LDS Church in conjunction with the Jerusalem Center for Near Eastern Studies using a Pictoral Archive in Israel.  It combines space shuttle photographs with beautifully colored roadmaps of the whole middle east.  Add to that hundreds of full color photos of virtually every location mentioned in the Bible.  You know those colored photos in some of the hard copy LDS KJV bibles?  This is the source of those, but there are a hundred more.  Often available at a Deseret Industries, this is a great book to help you visualize where biblical events took place.

First Hebrew word that I figured out using a Webster's Dictionary chart of alphabets, 1982. (Hatches: look at the label.  A real Melchizedek)

This year in Institute,  we skipped talking about the pattern of "A Man had Two Sons," because that is already available from 2022 on the salemzion.org website: Weeks 5, 6, and 7.

If you are hungry for more about Eve, Adam, Seth, Enoch and Noah, find copies of these two books by Jeffrey M Bradshaw.  David Larsen co-authored volume 2.

Kindle versions are available, but hard copies are out of print and expensive.  Try getting them through interlibrary loan.

WARNING: a combined total of 1700 pages.
